"There are instances of romance, apocalyptic notions as the world passes, and symptoms of travel. I don't think Wallace considers approaching any of these subjects under simple pretense."

BIO
Skyway Man, or formally, James Wallace is the kind of guy you'd want on your side if you ever got into a music fight in prison. A quick falsetto step and a melismatic jab would get you right out of trouble, and back on the good line. His penchant for dark and clever wordplay above major cheerful melodies, indicates there may be a few twisted stories from his past that we've yet to discover.
Seen Coming From A Mighty Eye captures a vintage quality channeled from some alternate-dimension folk music of decades past. The nod to Paul Simon is apparent through sheer vocal physicality and studied use of polyrhythmic percussion, but Wallace's writing also reveals a similar love for melancholy lyric married to rich gospel harmonies. More often than not, his band heads into the go-for-broke rodeo scene of the early Kinks. A kind of rock and roll riot of joy and energy that is balanced neatly by Wallace's sweet tenor and bluesy melodic lines.
Following his narrative influences takes us down a true rabbit hole--to the source of the Naked Light. Stories appear out of every corner, real and or unreal. Emotions are born and breathe, exhibiting strange behaviors. Whether they are cited from one of his wandering trips to China, his short stint as a gospel piano player for a small Mennonite Church in Appalachia, or a mysterious box of letters about the alien end times found in an abandoned storehouse, Wallace's well of inspiration is deep, and doesn't seem to be running dry anytime soon.
